Tracking & Tracing with true Global coverage
Leap Development B.V. designed a tracking & tracing system (GTTS-2000 series) that provides true global coverage. Instead of the commonly used GSM/GPRS network, this system uses the Iridium satellite network, making tracking and tracing in the most remote and desolate areas possible. This feature makes that the systems are very well equipped to be used in the nautical sector as LRIT (Long Range Identification Transponder), VMS (Vessel monitoring System) or as SSAS (Ship Security Alert System).

Tracking & Tracing
Tracking & Tracing is widely used in the transport and security business to trace stolen or lost goods. In the world of sports these techniques are used in marathons, sailboat races, cycling races etc. A “Client”, whose name cannot be mentioned (for the time being), incorporates the application of these techniques way beyond what’s available in the world of sports today. A seizure from the applications possibilities:
- Cyclists and marathon runners can monitor the distance to the finish on a ‘watch’. They also can monitor where their team members are.
- Relevant data as heartbeat, speed, position etc. can be viewed real time on a Google Earth powered website. This data is also logged by the device for later analysis by the athlete or trainer.
- Besides the tracking of sailboats during a competition, it is also possible to automatically detect a false start based on GPS data.
Leap Development B.V. plays an advising roll regarding the integrated techniques and also develops a large part of the electronics and embedded software. The used techniques in this product:

Container security
A good container door lock is vandal resistant and may only be released by authorization at the recipients’ location. It is preferred that the lock is built in and can be opened world wide by means of a electronic key. To automate the authorization, the lock has to be controlled through a Global Wireless Network.
Leap Development B.V. secured the order from Zoca Container Security B.V. for development of the lock and the handheld device. Following are the details of the input Leap Development B.V. gave in this project:
- Development of a unique solution for the mechanical bolt. Detailed mechanical engineering was boarded.
- Development of the control system of the bolt that enables communication with a Handheld Mobile.
- Development of a Handheld Mobile that communicates with a central database server. Using the Iridium Satellite Network ensuring independent control of GSM Networks and makes it truly global.

Travel Vision ®
To view T.V. programs onboard of an (inland) vessel while travelling a Satellite Tracking System is required. Besides a guidance system to track the satellite, advanced electronics and software are needed to recognize or read the satellites orbital position.
Leap Development B.V. developed the electronics and embedded software for this satellite system and iin cooperation with Qmind responsible for new developments and technical support for this product. Obtained re-developments for this product:
- Software adaptation for completely renewed mechanics and coaxial feed through.
- Development of a stabilization system to compensate “roll & pitch”.

Mobile Satellite Broadcast System, VPS™
Live Television from a location is often only possible if a communication satellite can be used for broadcasting. A fully automated satellite TX/RX system that uses the aids of a digital compass, GPS positioning and a digital tracking receiver is essential to establish a broadcast channel world wide in record time.
