In 10 steps from familiarization to product:
Orientation
Requirements and wishes can be discussed with possible solutions freely open for debate or negotiation by a serious of round the table meetings or forums. To exchange ideas freely, it is possible to draw and sign a NDA if requested.
Specifications
With the requirements put on paper, specifications, prognoses, feasibility and an action plan will be drawn.
Concept design
On receiving a signed written order in which the complete design is specified, a concept design will be made. This design will then be discussed with the client where if required further alterations can be made at this stage.
Detailed design
The engineering of the detailed design is considered to be the definite design. Alterations of the requirements or wishes at this stage of development can be costly. Especially if it concerns hardware alterations.
Prototyping (segmented)
Using the detailed design, a number of prototypes are produced to test functionality and the embedded software.
Testing
Functionality of the prototypes is being tested and a demonstration is given to the customer. Possible technical modifications are carried out on the prototypes so that the definite design for the nil-series is tested on beforehand.
Nil-series
When the developed electronics are going to be produced in larger quantities, it is necessary to produce a sound production series for field testing.
Field tests
Field tests also serve as duration tests. To determine the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), larger quantities have to be tested. Test rigs are often used for simulation of ‘the real world’.
Production
Accompaniment in production and purchase of components until the developed product is ready for sale or use.
Support
Technical support can vary strongly per product. Leap Development B.V. supports the interests of the customer.
